Self – Watering
The Vegepod is a self-watering garden bed, meaning it utilizes a wicking system. The wick is the soil or perlite that is in contact with the water in the reservoir at the base of the garden bad. Soil uses capillary action to draw the water upwards keeping the soil moist. A plant’s roots will locate this moisture hence watering from below. Established plants can last weeks without watering and in cooler times your plants may not require water for months at a time.
Commercial Grade Canopy
Protects from pests and harsh weather
The VegeCover is unique to the Vegepod and is a really effective way to protect your veggies. No need for pesticides or wildlife deterrents anymore. Providing a shading rate of 17% is ideal for keeping that harsh sun at bay and providing a superior growing environment. And the only real way to put an end to those voracious night-time predators.
Micro-climate – Promotes Rapid Growth
An advanced greenhouse material made specifically for Vegepods it allows air and water to penetrate. Unlike plastic covers that will cook your veggies on a hot day, the VegeCover will protect you from the harsh heat.
Built-in Mist Sprayer
To make life even easier running along the top of the VegeCover is a mist-spray watering system. Just plug into a standard hose fitting and you are away. You can even attach a timer to your tap to water on extended vacations.
Easily Raised to Waist Height
A huge benefit of the Vegepod Container Gardens is that they can be easily raised to waist height. The Vegepod stands and trolleys raise the container garden so that the soil is waist height (80cm). Made of galvanized and powder-coated steel the stands are not only sturdy but will last many years. The stands come flat-packed and are easily bolted together. Ensure you have a level area.
