Maven Skram Pest Prevention (Concentrate)
The Ultimate Pest Protection for All Plants
General Information
The TRIPLE P (Plant Promotion Products) range is specifically designed to support professional, continuous plant growth programs. It works seamlessly with Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Integrated Crop Management (ICM), and biological control strategies to enhance plant health and protection.
This powerful solution provides effective control of aphids, whiteflies, thrips, and spider mites, along with good control of mealybugs, leafhoppers, psyllids, suckers, and scale insects when applied as a contact penetration foliar spray. Additionally, when added to nutrient solutions or irrigation water, it effectively combats common root rot diseases caused by zoosporic fungi such as Pythium and Phytophthora.
What is SKRAM?
SKRAM is a water-based emulsion containing medium-chain fatty acid nonionic surfactants, derived from natural, renewable plant-based oils (such as olive oil, soybean oil, yeast-derived oil, and microalgae fatty acid methyl esters).
It delivers highly effective control of whiteflies, aphids, and mites on protected crops like strawberries, tomatoes, and cucumbers. SKRAM is MRL-exempt, meaning it does not require maximum residue limit testing, and it has a zero-day preharvest interval, making it ideal for organic farming. It also has minimal impact on bees, pollinators, and beneficial arthropods.
Upon contact, SKRAM provides immediate control of aphids, whiteflies, thrips, and spider mites, while also offering good control of mealybugs, leafhoppers, psyllids, suckers, and scale insects. It is effective against all life stages of insects and mites, especially the motile forms.
How Does SKRAM Work?
SKRAM works on contact by targeting pests at all life stages—eggs, juveniles, and adults. Its medium-chain fatty acid nonionic surfactants penetrate the external body walls of pests, disrupting vital metabolic processes and interfering with feeding activity. The first visible effect is an immediate cessation of feeding, leading to reduced damage, egg laying, and egg viability.
Additionally, SKRAM is highly effective in controlling zoosporic fungi by disrupting their plasma membranes, preventing the spread of root rot diseases. To maintain effectiveness, SKRAM should be consistently present in the nutrient solution.
Beyond pest control, SKRAM enhances general system and indoor garden hygiene by assisting in biofilm removal and disease prevention. It also improves crop yields by increasing water use efficiency and making root membranes more permeable, leading to better nutrient absorption. Furthermore, SKRAM can work synergistically with plant hormones, providing an additional growth-boosting effect.
